Welcome to the website of the mixed choir Presto Pilsen!

We are a bunch of music-loving enthusiasts who playfully cross various genres while singing, from traditional Czech melodies to modern adaptations of popular hits. Under the sensitive and inspiring guidance of our choirmaster Mgr. Anastázia Šolcová, we aim not only to broaden our musical horizons, but also to bring the joyful atmosphere of our choir to the hearts of a wide audience.

The atmosphere in the choir is friendly and supportive, which allows us not only to grow musically, but also to enjoy the joy of singing together. Our doors are always open to all who share our passion for music and wish to become part of our singing family.

Choir Gathering in the Church of All Saints in Plzeň

On April 27, 2025, you can look forward to seeing us at the Choir Gathering in the Church of All Saints in Plzeň-Roudná. The Church of All Saints, located on an elongated elevation about 1.2 km from the city center, is one of the oldest churches in Plzeň. In the Middle Ages, it was referred to as the “mother” of the town church. Today, it is part of the Plzeň-Northern Suburb Parish, managed by the Franciscan brothers. The restoration and maintenance of this cultural monument are supported by a civic association and individual residents of the Roudná district.

Advent and Christmas in All Saints Church

The performance of our mixed choir PRESTO at the Church of All Saints in Nezvěstice on the occasion of the 3rd Sunday of Advent (Advent Tea) was truly magical. Thank you to everyone who attended, supported us, and contributed to a good cause – the proceeds from the event will go towards the restoration of the organ in this church. The church, which is dedicated to All Saints, dates back to the first half of the 14th century. For many years there was a cemetery around the church, but in 1939 it was moved to the F. Nekoly field towards Št'ahlavy. The church was originally built in Cistercian Gothic style, so it had a tall, slender tower with a pointed roof. The nave was also taller, as evidenced by the remains of the roof visible from the side of the tower. In 1606-07 it was rebuilt to its present form, and later (18th century) a Baroque alteration was made to the tower, when it was given this onion-shaped spire. The altars are early baroque, dating from around 1664.

The Night of Churches has become a traditional event in the Czech Republic, anticipated by many thousands of people. A record 1,854 churches and houses of worship participated this year, and according to information, more than 420,000 visitors were recorded throughout the Czech Republic during the Night of Churches. 15 members of the coordination team from all dioceses were involved in the preparation of the project. The implementation of 7811 programmes was ensured by 20,000 volunteers from parishes and congregations. More than 35,000 performers performed during the evening. This year's Night of the Churches was accompanied by good weather, a peaceful atmosphere, the satisfaction of visitors and the joy of thousands of volunteer organizers. Next year's Night of Churches will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025.
